I had the pleasure of meeting Capt. Carlo way back 2007, I was fresh out of high school. I can attest for his love for aviation and his passion for teaching. He saw something in me that we had in common, love for aviation. He immediately and without hesitation took me under his wings.
At the tender age of 23, he made a bold move of opening up his own business in Hayward California. Somewhere around the time of his flying school’s inception, he offered me a job I could not refuse! He asked if I could work for him as his assistant, I immediately accepted. It was one of the decisions to this day that I never regret. I had the pleasure of spending lots of time with him and learned a lot along the way. I saw his business grow and produce lots of very proficient and professional pilots. He held a high standard among all his students, he never took shortcuts be it with running a business or teaching. He played a very important role in my carrier as my first flying instructor, he molded me to be the aviator that I am now.
Fast forward to this day, I am currently flying with one of our nations major airlines as an Airbus A321 Captain. I am proud to be one of the few younger Captains of my generation, I would not be where I am now without Capt. Aclan’s guidance. He helped me get a head start in my aviation career. What he has done for me as a mentor, I am sure he can also do for other pilots as well. I am excited to see his students grow with him, and no doubt be sure to be flying with them soon.
